We purchased Freddie from JM Horses LLC. Courage Reins purchased Freddie without seeing him in person, which can be a stressful experience, but NOT with Mallory. I bought this wonderful, kind soul who I named “Crockett” from Mallory at JM Horses. He’s a 4 yr. old draft cross with a mind of an experienced, older soul. When I started looking for a horse for my 6’7” beginner rider husband, I knew I was in for a bit of a task. As he put it, “I think I need a horse I can look eye to eye with” lol! Then I saw GRONK…and my heart DROPPED! I watched the beautiful video Mallory and Jessie made of him on the JM Horses website and I was mesmerized. Not only was he a GORGEOUS 16’2 half draft, this horse could do it all! Trail, rope cattle, rope bulls, jump through a ring of fire (I know right!?) and with how kind and quiet he was, it was obvious he was special. I can’t explain the feeling I had in my heart other than…I KNEW Gronk was our horse!! (and fun fact, my husband’s college football nickname was Gronkowski!! Whatttt??!!) The way they work with each horse they have is unprecedented in the horse world! They truly take their time (months in fact) with their training process with and when they decide a horse is ready, they can explain to you in detail the horse’s mind, heart, and what their physical capabilities are…even down to their funny personality traits! And above all, we were overjoyed to learn Mallory and Jessie want to make sure each horse is going to their forever home! They interviewed us almost as much as we interviewed them about Gronk! Mallory and Jessie truly care and love each horse they train and that meant the world to my husband and I. We have stayed in touch with them ever since we became the proud owners of Gronk and gained two new amazing friends in the horse world to boot! My husband and I bought Hatchet Jack at the Diamonds in the Desert Sale in December 2019. We did not get to the preview of the sale in a timely manner but I was able to meet Hatchet briefly and he was absolutely amazing! Such a great demeanor-curious and calm amid the chaos of horses and people and even a train track not too far away. We were blessed to be the high bidder and Hatchet was delivered to my home in Tennessee. He immediately settled in. He was everything he was described as. The first time I rode him I had to ride along the road for a short period to meet up with a group of riders- there were probably 8 horses in the group and most of them were gaited horses. It was a test for Hatchet that he passed with flying colors. He didn’t care about the other horses gaiting and he didn’t care if he was in front, middle, or behind. For such a young horse, he has an amazing mind. You can tell he had a solid, kind foundation of training. My original intent was just to use him for trail riding, but we have since dabbled in Western Dressage and he is currently learning how to drive. He has handled everything with aplomb. I have a neighbor that is a true beginner and I let her ride Hatchet- he’s so kind and gentle with her! He is my trainer’s favorite horse and she even rides him occasionally because she is so impressed with him! I could tell from talking to Mallory that she really cares for her horses and takes great care of them. I would not hesitate to buy another horse from Mallory and I have friends that I would happily recommend they buy a horse from Mallory as well. We love Hatchet, he has become apart of the family and I look forward to many years with him!

I have been a happy JM Horses client since Dec. 2020 with the purchase of my amazing Watson the Gypsy! After a very long and extremely frustrating search for my forever equine partner, I found Mallory with JM Horses! What a different approach they have. They are truly dedicated to the match of the horse and rider. They care about their horses and Mallory told me a buyer had offered to buy Waspy sight unseen and she refused because she cared about the right match. When I called Mallory, she answered my long list of questions and then invited me to come out and do a trail ride! I have gotten to know Mallory Cecil, of JM Horses, over the last several years as I've watched her bring along several horses from afar. As I had interests, she always took an immense amount of time to talk to me when I inquired about them. She wanted to also get to know me because she wants to make sure her horses and her clients are a great fit for each other. She is very transparent, trustworthy and extremely knowledgeable.

As I watched her bring a long Murphy I realized he really would be the horse I've been waiting for to trust completely. He demonstrated the confidence and capabilities that could also give me the confidence to re-explore field hunter activities, like fox hunting, trail riding and hunter paces. He is super smart, learns easily, is so willing, can do many different things, including adapting to the English discipline and has a personality that is hilarious and melts my heart.

She also followed up with me after he arrived in Virginia to make sure to answer questions and give me advice as Murphy and I got to know each other.
